What is Pre-Trial Diversion/Intervention

Application Process

Program Requirements

These may include classroom instruction, community service, counseling, drug or alcohol treatment programs. This progam is adminstrated through the probation office but you would not be on probation.
Duration
The duration of the program can vary but typically lasts between 6 months to 2 years, depending on the nature of the offense and the individual’s progress in meeting the program requirements. When the person participating is diligent about the requirements the process could go faster.
Case Dismissal
Successful completion of the Pre-Trial Diversion program results in the dismissal of the criminal charges. This means that the individual will not have a criminal record related to the specific offense.
Failure to Complete
If a participant fails to comply with the program requirements, their case will be returned to the traditional court process, and they will face prosecution for the original charges.
